Why a 1:0.8 glucose-to-fructose ratio?

Glucose and fructose are absorbed through different transporters in the gut: SGLT1 for glucose and GLUT5 for fructose. Using both routes together helps maximise the carbohydrate you can absorb and use during exercise. FLYGEL uses the same 1:0.8 ratio as HICARB.

How many gels should I take?

Consume up to 3 gels per hour during exercise, depending on your nutrition plan. Practise your fuelling in training before race day.

Is FLYGEL vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free?

Yes. FLYGEL Berry is suitable for vegans and is gluten-free and lactose-free.

Ingredients, nutrition and storage

Ingredients: Water, maltodextrin, fructose, gelling agent (pectin), acidity regulators (glucono delta lactone, sodium citrate, citric acid), natural flavouring, calcium lactate, natural colour (anthocyanin), preservative (potassium sorbate).

Per sachet (44ml): 512kJ / 120kcal, 0g fat, 30g carbohydrate of which sugars 14.7g, 0.2g fibre, 0g protein, 0.1g salt.
