How to take BICARRB

Each portion of BICARRB contains two parts: the Energy Mix and the Bicarb Mix. Watch our short video, or checkout the carousel below, to see exactly how to prepare it.

When to take BICARRB?

For most races and high-intensity efforts, take BICARRB 2 hours before your event start time.

For events lasting 90 minutes to 3 hours, we suggest taking BICARRB 75 to 90 minutes before the start.

For longer endurance or ultra-distance events, protocols can vary. Please get in touch and we will help tailor your approach.
  • Step 1: Empty the Energy Mix into your FLYCARB bowl.
  • Step 2: Add 60 ml of water and stir until combined.
  • Step 3: Add the Bicarb Mix and stir again until combined.
  • Step 4: Eat the mixture. Swallow without chewing.
  • That’s it. A quick and easy way to get your BICARRB boost.

Other Nutrition?

Eat your pre-event meal as normal. We also recommend a carbohydrate snack (e.g. toast or banana) approximately 30 minutes before taking BICARRB to support absorption. Avoid other nutrition for 20 minutes before and 20 minutes after taking BICARRB. Sipping water or HICARB is fine.
