What Makes FLYCARB’s BICARRB the best?
Share
Athletes often ask us how BICARRB compares to other bicarbonate options. So, to help you decide, we've put together a clear breakdown of what’s out there.
We've compared the options that we know lots of athletes consider, and explained the advantages of our BICARRB product.
Raw Bicarbonate
The risky one.
In theory, raw sodium bicarbonate works. In practice, most athletes experience serious gut distress when taking it in capsules or mixed in water. Studies also show the effective “buffering window” is shorter, which limits its performance benefit.
High-Carb Enhanced Bicarbonate
The heavy (and expensive) one.
Another option on the market does improve absorption, but only when taken with a very large portion of unflavoured carbohydrate gel, around 40 g of carbs at once. Many athletes find this leaves them feeling heavy, bloated, and restricted in how they fuel. Not only that, the price per portion is prohibitive for most competitors.
FLYCARB’s BICARRB
Performance at a fair price
We built BICARRB to deliver the performance boost without the trade-offs. Our Energy Mix gel matrix ensures efficient absorption with a long plataue of raised bicarbonate levels. Meanwhile the lower gel volume offers greater fuelling flexibility and minimises bloating. Alongside that we have developed flavoured versions to improve palatability and our Original and Mango BICARRB products are Informed Sport certified.
The Bottom Line
With BICARRB, you get the full benefit of bicarbonate in a lighter, more comfortable format, and at a much more accessible price. No huge carb load and no gut gamble. It's no surprised that BICARRB is the people's choice.

And to make things even clearer, we’ve put together a simple comparison graphic for you.
