New Zealand’s flying Kiwi, Tobes Gualter, is the 2025 New Zealand 10km Champion. On a windy day in Cambridge, at the heart of the Waikato District, Tobes executed a bold race plan to perfection, storming to victory in 29:39 and finishing 20 seconds clear of rival Eric Speakman.

The twisting, lapped course, with multiple hairpins and long stretches into headwinds, was never going to produce fast times. Instead, it became a test of strength, grit, and repeated accelerations.
