How FLYCARB's Supplements Stack Up

In recent weeks, we’ve launched two new products designed to support endurance performance. Understanding how they work, how they complement each other, and how to use them in race week can be complicated. We’ve outlined the latest below and put together an infographic to help you decide.
The first thing to say is that different products target different aspects of performance, and individual responses vary. You don’t need to use all of them, and you may find that one product works better for you than another. Our aim is to provide the products and tools to help you build your perfect stack.
With that said, here’s how the FLYCARB performance range fits together.
BICARRB
Buffering for when the intensity gets high. Our original product.
BICARRB provides sodium bicarbonate to support extracellular buffering during high-intensity exercise.
When to take: Race day, approximately 2 hours before racing.
Bicarbonate is particularly relevant to events involving a significant high-intensity component. The potential performance benefit can vary between events and athletes, but research has repeatedly shown meaningful performance benefits in a range of high-intensity events.
Anthosystem
Load throughout race week. Perform on race day.
Anthosystem harnesses the power of anthocyanins in New Zealand Blackcurrants. It combines an anthocyanin loading phase with HICARB Antho+ on race day.
Race week: Antholoading Drink daily
Race day: HICARB Antho+
Anthocyanins have an increasingly substantial research base, with evidence supporting their potential role in both performance and recovery.
ITC Shot
Start before your final hard session. Continue on race day.
ITC Shot can be taken as part of your final taper session, and again on race day:
Final hard session: ITC Shot before training.
Race day: Approximately 3 hours before racing.
Using it before your final hard effort gives you the opportunity to test your approach before race day and may help with recovery. Taking it on race day may also support performance, although the research into ITCs for exercise performance is still emerging.
FLYCARB ITC Shot gives athletes the opportunity to try ITCs in a convenient format and at an accessible price.
Caffeine
An optional extra for race day.
Caffeine can be used alongside the other supplements and has consistently been shown to enhance exercise performance. That said, individual responses vary, so dose and timing should be based on what you’ve already tested in training.
Add caffeine to race day routine with CAFCARB BICARRB.
You don’t need the whole stack
The products above aren’t designed to be an all-or-nothing package.
A 1500m, 5k, 10k and marathon all place different demands on the body. The potential benefit of each supplement can therefore vary depending on the event, the athlete and how it is used.
Think of the range as a selection box. You need to choose what works for you.
And whatever you choose, test it in training before race day.
