Fiona Everard Reclaims Her Irish XC Crown as We Head to Portugal for Euros

Fiona Everard returned to the top of Irish cross country this weekend, storming to her second national title in three years after a heroic run through the mud in Derry. It was a performance full of grit, power, and the resilience that has made her one of Ireland’s most exciting distance runners.

This year has been a standout season for Fiona: personal bests of 15:49 for 5km, 9:09 for 3000m, and an improved 1500m, all supported by consistent training and her trusted race-day routine with FLYCARB’s BICARRB. But cross country is where she truly thrives, and Derry’s mud and hills brought out her very best.

In a gripping head-to-head with Niamh Allen, Fiona made her decisive move just over a lap from home, surging away to secure her second national title. After the race, she reflected:

“I really wanted this. All season I was running with my aim to win this… I’m really excited to compete with the best at Euros.”

On her continued use of BICARRB in training and racing:

“I always race with BICARRB, it’s an amazing product. It’s helped me to all my track PBs, and now to take my second Irish XC title.”
