At this year’s National Cross Country Championships, history was made on the legendary slopes of Parliament Hill. BICARRB was proud to sponsor the inaugural King & Queen of Parliament Hill competition, celebrating the sheer grit and determination of the finest cross-country runners.
As thousands of athletes stormed the hill in a breathtaking spectacle of endurance and power, two champions emerged, each claiming their royal title in a thrilling display of racing excellence.
The Queen of Parliament Hill: Hester Hill
The women’s race was nothing short of a thriller. With a name seemingly destined for victory, Hester Hill put on a spectacular performance, battling against St Albans’ Christy Durbin in a dramatic fight for the crown. As the race unfolded, the two athletes pushed each other to the limit, trading surges and refusing to back down.
In the final stretch, Hester found another gear, digging deep to claim the Queen of Parliament Hill title. For Team BICARRB, this was the highlight of the day, proving once again that the women’s race is just as electric and intense as the men’s.
The King of Parliament Hill: Isaac McAdam
On the men’s side, Isaac McAdam of Swindon emerged victorious in a battle worthy of legend. As the gun fired, a stampede of athletes surged forward, charging up Parliament Hill in a chaotic burst of power. From the blur of colors, Isaac made his presence felt early, settling into the fierce front pack.
With the race wide open and challengers breathing down his neck, Isaac waited for the perfect moment. Then, in a decisive move, he unleashed a blistering kick, surging ahead to claim victory and the royal title. The King of the Hill had arrived!
A Battle to Remember
From start to finish, the King & Queen of Parliament Hill competition embodied everything we love about cross country. Passion, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. We were thrilled to see so many athletes take on the challenge, and we can’t wait to return next year!
