FLYCARB is proud to be supporting athletes who have been selected for the World University Games. Three of our FLYCARB super-stars have been selected to compete at the 2025 FISU World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, taking place from 16–27 July.
This international multi-sport event — often dubbed the "Olympics for university athletes" — is a proving ground for rising stars.
🚀 Lucy Armitage – 800m for Team GB 🇬🇧
Middle-distance talent Lucy Armitage continues her electric form into the summer season, earning her spot in the 800m for Great Britain. Clocking a personal best of 2:03.1, she recently set a new FLYCARB athlete record and looks primed for a big breakthrough in Germany.
💦 Tom Bridger – Steeplechase for Team GB 🇬🇧
Steeplechase specialist Tom Bridger made waves earlier this year with a blistering 8:36, smashing the British Universities record. Now, he takes his momentum to the world stage, proudly representing Team GB in the 3000m steeplechase.
🔥 Tobes Gualter – 5000m for New Zealand 🇳🇿
FLYCARB’s long-distance dynamo Tobes Gualter lines up for New Zealand in the 5000m, off the back of a stellar second-place finish at the New Zealand National Championships. Expect big moves from this flying Kiwi in Rhine-Ruhr.
